Can I just say that I looooove these pictures? Rhea’s senior session at Adriatica and Erwin Park in McKinney was a dream. The glow of morning golden hour was unreal and I got to take pictures of not just one gorgeous girl but two. I love it when my seniors bring a friend, and Elina was a joy to have with us. We met up at 6am to make sure we could catch as much of the beautiful morning light as possible. Since Erwin Park doesn’t open until 7 am, we stopped at Adriatica village for a few pictures. And while I love this location and all the textured walls, Mediterranean buildings, and beautiful doorways, the grassy fields were what Rhea really wanted. So we only spent about 20 minutes at our first location.
Fire ants had us abandon our last spot at Adriatica rather rapidly. If you’ve never had the pleasure of encountering these little critters you have no idea what they are capable of. Fortunately, I was the only one who stepped into their hill and so the only one getting stung. And I have a well-stocked first aid kit in the car. But the pain is real. There may or may not exist a video of me, doing some wild dance moves trying to get those tiny terrorists off my legs. It will never see the light of day.
When we arrived at Erwin Park it was almost deserted, besides a few overnight campers we had the place to ourselves. We ventured quickly into some tall grass, Beatrice in tow (Rhea’s white guitar). The sun bathed the field and us in a beautiful golden light. It was a photographer’s dream. I could spend hours raving about our morning in McKinney, but I’ll let Rhea’s pictures from her Senior Session speak for themselves.
